Are Fiverr browser extensions safe?
Some are safe and some are not, and the difference is visible before you install anything if you know what to look at.
This is worth getting right. Your Fiverr account is your income, and account access is not something you can un-give.
The one rule that matters most
No legitimate tool needs your Fiverr password. Ever.
A browser extension works by reading the Fiverr page in the browser where you are already logged in. It does not need to log in, because you already have. Any tool asking you to enter your Fiverr credentials — on its own website, in a form, anywhere that is not Fiverr itself — is asking for control of your account, and there is no legitimate reason for it.
If you take nothing else from this page, take that. It rules out most of the genuinely dangerous options immediately.
What to check before installing
- Permissions. An extension that only needs to watch Fiverr should request access to fiverr.com, not to all websites. Chrome shows this at install time — read it.
- Whether it can act as you. Reading your inbox is very different from sending messages, accepting orders or changing your gigs. A tool that only reads can embarrass you at worst; one that can act can lose you your account.
- Whether it asks for credentials. See above. This is disqualifying.
- Who publishes it, and whether there is a real privacy policy naming what is stored and where.
- Reviews and install count on the Chrome Web Store — with the caveat that a small number of reviews means unproven, not unsafe.
What about Fiverr's rules?
Reading a page you are already logged into, in your own browser, is ordinary browser behaviour — it is what every ad blocker, password manager and accessibility tool does.
The line worth respecting is automation that acts on your behalf: sending messages, placing or accepting orders, or anything designed to make Fiverr believe you are present when you are not. That is where tools get sellers into trouble.
Fiverr's Terms of Service are the authority here and they change, so check the current version rather than trusting a summary.

- Is it safer to just use the Fiverr mobile app?
- The official app is the lowest-risk option, and for alerts away from your desk it is the right tool. It does not cover the browser you work in all day, which is the gap sellers use extensions to fill. Using both is common and reasonable.
- What permissions should a Fiverr notification extension need?
- Access to fiverr.com pages, and the ability to show notifications. That is close to the whole list. Requests for access to all websites, your browsing history, or your downloads deserve an explanation before you accept them.
